From gas supplier to future-focused energy brand

The Challenge

Flogas began life as an LPG supplier — a trusted presence in homes and businesses across Ireland. But the energy landscape was changing fast. Climate targets, customer expectations and the urgency of the transition to renewables meant Flogas needed to evolve: from a gas company to a complete energy company.

When we first engaged with them, their brand guidelines largely covered livery. There was no broader brand strategy, no defined tone of voice, and no clear way to express what Flogas was becoming. Our task was to help shape that evolution — not just visually, but fundamentally.

Our Thinking

We approached Flogas as both brand architects and long-term brand guardians. Working closely with their leadership, we developed a brand positioning that acknowledged where they were — and where they needed to go:

Empowering our communities to make simpler, smarter and more sustainable choices.

This was supported by a concise brand purpose:

Energy for everyone.

Through extensive market research, we helped the business define its key audiences, understand its unique strengths, and clarify the role it could play in both domestic and commercial energy markets.

From there, we evolved every part of the brand — apart from the name and logo, which needed to stay. Everything else was reimagined:

  • A fresh, modern visual language

  • A warmer, more confident tone of voice

  • Photography, colour and illustration that felt authentic and future-focused

  • Communication frameworks that could flex across everything from billing to billboards

We took global insights and applied them in local, human ways. From call centre scripts to sustainability messaging, we helped embed consistency and creativity throughout.

We also worked closely with their commercial energy team as they expanded their offering — helping shape how Flogas shows up as a B2B partner on the journey to net zero.

The Impact

 

The transformation has been felt across every part of the business. Recent advertising campaigns, sponsorship activations and digital channels all reflect a brand with new energy and ambition.

In their new offices at Dublin Airport, we helped bring the brand into the workplace — not through corporate wall vinyls, but with illustrations that celebrated place, people and purpose. The result is a space that reflects Flogas’ history and future — from community energy to climate innovation.

We’ve also supported major partnerships including the Irish Olympic Team, Emerald Park and Electric Picnic — ensuring the brand felt relevant, credible and connected in each setting.

Rather than simply applying logos, we focused on creating meaning. Whether powering the main stage with Irish wind energy or connecting with families through everyday sustainability, each activation reinforced Flogas’ evolving story.

Today, Flogas Energy has over 250,000 electricity and gas customers across the island of Ireland — a sevenfold increase since 2019, driven by smart acquisitions, renewable product diversification and clear, compelling brand strategy.
